Charter Planes

Charter Planes

A typical chartered plane for small business use will carry ten passengers at most. Larger planes may carry as many as fifty at a time. The passenger does not find themselves wedged into their seat between two other people with no room to move or breathe. Other than comfort, a variety of reasons make chartered plane travel more agreeable to a passenger.

* Chartered planes do not have the immense size and weight of commercial airliners. This allows them to service thousands more airports than a commercial airliner is able to land at. More direct flights means less time waiting on transfers and trying to catch a nap in an air terminal while waiting for nine hours for the next leg of a journey.

* Tired of lost baggage? Your luggage flies on the same plane you do at the same time as you. There is no need to stand at baggage check to wait to find out your suitcase has ended up on the other side of the world.

* Charter flights are typically more flexible than standard commercial flights. Commercial airlines push a time-table of boarding, flights, and departures that they often can not live up to. A private charter flight can make it easier to arrange a flight time while not having to wait four hours to board.

* The smaller nature of chartered flight allows a busy individual the time to do some quality work while in the air. Commercial flights offer plenty of disturbances in the form of other passengers and their activities. In addition, a greater amount of privacy is gained by choosing chartered air travel as a business means of transportation. One does not need to worry about being overheard discussing a sensitive matter as they do in a commercial airliner. This is one of the key factors that bring executives to the decision to fly on a chartered plane.

* Travel by charter plane is not only more convenient, but it is just as safe as flying commercial. The FAA has strict mandates that ensure your and the crew's safety while aboard a private plane. The greater convenience does not mean a lax attitude towards safety and upkeep. Your safety is always our greatest concern.

Extra-Large Wings on Air: Cargo Shipping Planes and Its Difference With Passenger Aircraft

Extra-Large Wings on Air: Cargo Shipping Planes and Its Difference With Passenger Aircraft

When using an air cargo shipping service, some might wonder about how they actually fly so many things to different places. Compared to the usual passenger aircraft, it is hard to imagine how so items and packages can fit inside. As most people know, the planes used for the two types of cargo (people vs. 'actual' cargo) are not the same.

Passenger aircraft, which everyone has grown to know and love, are built to carry a certain capacity of weight, restricted to people, carry-on luggage, and other relatively lighter objects.

An example of this type of commercial airplane is the Boeing 737 Next Generation series. This narrow-bodied passenger aircraft is not used for air cargo shipping because it can only carry up to 756-1,835 cubic feet of cargo paired with its 130-215 seating capacity; adding anymore to this will render the aircraft overloaded.

Freight planes, on the other hand, do without the seating capacity as they function solely to transport goods, and not people; there is more space for shipment to be stored, especially since these fright planes are designed to be bigger than its commercial counterparts. The Boeing 747 Large Cargo Freighter (LCF), or the Dreamlifter, is a perfect example of how cargo planes are made differently to suit their function.

This outsize cargo freight aircraft is used exclusively for transporting airplane parts from around the world. This plane can hold up to 65,000 cubic feet in its main cargo compartment and has a wingspan of 211 feet and 5 inches. This wingspan allows it to soar in the skies even with heavy airplane equipment inside, as compared to the 93 feet that the Boeing 737 is equipped with; making the Dreamlifter a giant that can hold so much more than other commercial jets.

As seen from this comparison, freight planes are really made to be bigger and more durable than commercial counterparts because of their function. Modifications have been made to make them an ideal form of transport for shipment of different sizes, ensuring everyone that their goods are safe and secure even from 25,000 to 37,000 feet above ground.

Electric RC Planes Vs Gas RC Planes

Electric RC Planes Vs Gas RC Planes

With regards to RC plane flying as a hobby there's a option of either a gas engine powered plane or an electric powered plane. Many people are going for electrical plane nowadays. The reasons behind this change are as follows.

Electric RC planes are fantastic for the novice aircraft flyer; for somebody who's looking to begin getting into the hobby. One of the main reasons is; electric planes are cheaper and generally made with beginner flyers in mind, so they come with easily replaceable components. An electric motor is cheaper than a gas motor. Electrical engines also have less moving components and are a lot easier to maintain than gas engines which need oiling and could be temperamental and a messy job to look after. Whereas an electric motor will almost always start up and give you consistent power.

With gas engines you'll also notice that they make a lot of noise and this could be a reason why you can't fly your plane as frequently (due to people complaining!). Gas engines work by having controlled explosions swiftly taking place within the engine. Flying clubs can often lose their license because of the noise level produced by such engines. With an electric powered RC aircraft, there's far less noise and you are able to fly with out worrying about complaints. You can even fly an electrical plane in a spacious in-door hall.

As mentioned earlier, electrical engines have fewer moving parts and this is also another plus point for electrical powered RC planes. As for gas engines, they cause vibration which can disturb the flight path of a aircraft, these such planes need to undergo further design to make certain they can withstand the vibrations and their effects.

With regards to the amount of energy produced by both engines, the electric engine is definitely the winner for producing constant high power. This makes it a more efficient engine. Electrical engines are easier to install with out the require of other components such as clutches which would be needed to run a gas motor. This makes the electrical engines fantastic for use on any kind of RC plane.

It's really a matter of choice for you, as both engine types can produce great results. Just weigh the pros and cons depending on your personal situation. And above all, have fun flying!

Cargo Planes Or Ships For International Shipping

Cargo Planes Or Ships For International Shipping

There is a growing trend in the Untied States in which people whose jobs went overseas are following the jobs and moving to other countries in order to keep their families together and make a decent living. If this is the case, and a family is leaving America for another country, either for a job or to retire, then they will need international shipping for all their worldly belongings.

Additionally, there are many rules and regulations that shippers through international waters and airspaces need to abide by in order to cross the borders. One example is some countries will not allow a freight carrier to pack and ship liquids of any kind. This includes bath soaps, dish soaps, baby formula, lotions, liquid medications or liquor. Other countries will not allow certain liquids such as liquor or medications but will allow the others. It is best to check with the freight company as to what is acceptable before packing for a move across the ocean.

In order to save time, some people who are moving to another country will ship the items they use most often, such as clothing, personal hygiene items, their computer and perhaps a few cooking items through the postal carrier or another shipping company in order to have the things they use everyday with them until the rest of their stuff arrives. Many of the bigger items, like beds, dressers, television, desk, carpets and such, might go on a cargo ship and take weeks to arrive at a new home in another country.

There are several different methods of shipping a household full of items to another country. There is a cargo ship or freight carrier that crosses the ocean with semi-truck container filled with a family's belongings and there is also extremely large cargo planes that can hold pallets filled with boxes of items that have been secured so that they will not slip around during the flight.

A freight or cargo shipper could also arrange to ship the family vehicle so that they will not have to purchase a new one once they arrive at their new home; however, their car may have to have some adjustments made in order to be 'legal' in the new country. An individual would need to check with the countries vehicle registration department for further information. Motorcycles and mopeds are other popular modes of transportation in many different countries and may also need some minor alterations to be street legal in the new country.

Boats and recreational vehicles could also be shipped through a cargo ship or a large freight plane. The people who do this type of shipping know how to tie down the vehicles so that they don't move during transport and each one will arrive at their destination in the same condition as they left the US in.

Many families want to ship their appliances to their new home in a new country and this poses a slight problem although it is easily fixed. Most European countries have a different electrical outlet system then the Untied States and there are adaptor plugs sold at all the grocers and market in the new country as well as the major department stores in the Untied States. A computer would also need a special adaptor and the Internet services are a little different than that of the US.

There are several factors that will determine the price of international shipping a household to another country. The state from which the items are leaving from, the country the items will be arriving, the manor in which they will be traveling and the amount of the cargo that will be traveling all play a role in the price package.

Cargo Planes

Cargo Planes

In today's competitive business world, the fast and efficient transportation of goods is a must. While sea vessels are ideal for transporting bulky goods, airplanes are better suited for speedy transportation over long distances. Initially, planes were not designed as cargo carriers. However, in 1911, planes started carrying cargo in the form of airmail. In mid 1920s, airplane manufacturers had started designing and building aircraft that were solely dedicated to carrying cargo.

An air plane chiefly designed and used for the carriage of goods, rather than passengers, is known as a cargo airplane. A cargo airplane is easily identifiable, as the role demands a number of special features. Cargo planes in general have a "fat" fuselage, a high wing to allow the cargo area to sit near the ground, and a high mounted tail to allow the cargo to be driven directly on and off the loading truck or crane. A cargo plane also has a large number of wheels to permit it to land in a greater number of locations.

Courier and transportation companies mainly use cargo planes. They help to transfer both light and heavy goods to places that are located far away. These planes are efficient and help to save time, as traveling by plane is the fastest mode of transportation.

At first, cargo planes were only used to deliver airmail to various different places. These were known as the "Early Airmail Craft." There were four different planes made for that purpose. Among the first were the Boeing C-700, Curtis JN4H, De Havilland DH4, and the Douglas M-2. The second generation of cargo aircraft that was manufactured was the "civilian cargo aircraft," which included the Boeing 727, the Boeing 747 freighter, the Boeing 777 freighter, and the Douglas DC-3. The third generation of cargo aircraft that was built consisted of military cargo aircraft. These included the Douglas C-54 Skymaster, Lockheed C-69 & C-121 Constellation, and the Boeing C-97 Stratofreighter.

The airplane industry has made the transportation of cargo as well as people a lot more feasible. Cargo planes are widely used today, and they have come a long way since they were first invented before World War II.

Options For Inexpensive RC Planes

Options For Inexpensive RC Planes

There are many options for inexpensive RC Planes on the market today. Knowing what to look for can reduce the risk dramatically when getting started in this hobby. I always like to look at ways that I can reduce the cost and thereby reduce the risk when buying or building a RC Plane.

To do this, you need to look at what RC Planes are made of and what these materials cost. There are lots of different ways to build model aircraft and each way has its advantages as well as disadvantages. My personal feeling is that balsa wood is way to fragile when building a model aircraft. It would be better to go for something more robust like plastic. There is a material on the market called fulteboard or corex. This is a corrugated plastic that is very easy to work with yet extremely strong. It is ideal for your first inexpensive RC planes and will serve you well. I am an experienced flier and I still build most of my model aircraft out of corex. You just can not beat the durability that this material gives you for the price.

Always remember that inexpensive RC Planes takes the worry out of flying. It is way less stressful flying a model aircraft that does not cost a fortune to build then one that has cost you every last cent you have. If you crash your cheap model you can afford to repair it and be back in the air again soon. With an expensive one it may take months for you to save up again. This type of stress totally destroys most beginner model airplane pilot's moral and puts them under even bigger stress when its time to fly again.

Building your inexpensive RC planes are just as easy. In our online course we have got all the answers to this problem. The student learns how to build, fly and fix his model aircraft all in the comfort of his own home.

So always remember to by reducing the price, you will reduce the risk and have many hours of flying fun without it costing you a fortune.

Private Charter Planes - 3 Tips to Lower Your Costs of Private Plane Rentals

Private Charter Planes - 3 Tips to Lower Your Costs of Private Plane Rentals

Today many people believe that flying in a private charter plane is very expensive and out of reach for most people. The truth is that private plane rentals can be very economical for business or pleasure. This article will explore how to lower the costs of flying in a private charter plane.

Why fly in a private jet? There are many reasons, but here are a few. The biggest savings is time. I don't have to worry about parking at the commercial airport. I don't have to wait in long security lines or baggage check in lines. I can basically drive up to my jet or close to it at a small airport, walk on to the plane and then expect to take off. Other reasons are that you don't have to put up with other passengers and delays. The degree of luxury can be much better than flying first class in a commercial jet, but luxury is not available on all private charter planes.

Now that you are sold on renting a private jet, you need to find out how to cut the costs. If you are flying for pleasure, then consider flying on the dead head flight. If your travel schedule is flexible, then you can save a tremendous amount of money on the dead head link. When a jet goes from point A to point B it must fly back to point A, normally empty. This is the dead head flight. Owners of jets would rather put someone on the flight at a lower price in order to pay for fixed expenses. If you are flexible you can save a ton of money.

Another way to save money is to get more people to fly with you. If you are flying for business then try to get everyone on the same flight instead of some people taking a commercial flight. The more people you get to fly the more you will save on a group rate.

Most people book flights using a private jet broker, but if you call the local airports you might be able to negotiate a lower rate directly with the owner of the jet.

Overview of the Best War Planes Of World War II and Why

Overview of the Best War Planes Of World War II and Why

Even by today's standards, the planes that dominated the skies during World War 2 were awesome.

Fast, agile, and deadly, they were fearsome as they were beautiful. They were the key weapons during the clash of ideologies and soaring personal ambitions at a pivotal period in the 20th century.

The antagonists in that great conflict brought contrasting styles which were put to the test during aerial combat.

The Japanese Zero adhered to the doctrine of the ultimate attack aircraft and did away with defensive armor and heavy machine guns to stay light. The "Wonder Weapon of the Pacific War" was incredibly agile and elusive at low altitude dogfights, but it was not as responsive above 20,000 feet. Because of its light frame, the Zero also had difficulty diving at high speed and easily exploded when hit.

The American Wildcat was big and hefty, but it was the extra load of armor plating and superior firepower that made it a formidable fighter. The Wildcat was tough, even while on the receiving end of enemy fire. It proved the perfect match against the Zero, which couldn't absorb much damage and was often unable to deliver the coup de grace because of its light armament.

At the forefront of the German onslaught was the Messerschmitt Bf109. The all-metal monoplane was initially met with lukewarm interest by the Nazis who first commissioned it. In combat, however, the Bf109 impressed skeptics with its speed and agility. It went on to become the most varied and respected Luftwaffe fighter of World War 2.

On the British side, legendary exploits have been attributed to the Spitfire fighter-interceptor, said to be the most popular plane of the war. Powerful yet easy to handle, the Spitfire earned the admiration of German aces, one of whom was said to have demanded to fly it at the height of the Battle of Britain where scores of Bf 109's were downed by the British defenders.

Regardless of their affiliations, the planes of World War 2 fulfilled their strategic roles-to harass and intimidate opposing infantry, transport troops and provisions, and deliver deadly cargo to cripple and demoralize the enemy. Their sleek and graceful lines belied their ferocity. They pushed the limits of performance and daring in the hands of the heroic pilots that guided them.

Modern aviation may have progressed astronomically since the last Great War, but the planes that fought it will never be forgotten.

Private Planes: Soar in Style and Excitement

Private Planes: Soar in Style and Excitement

The concept of traveling in private planes is often associated with wealthy and influential people. These planes provide a lot of convenience to their passengers. You will reach your destination early. You need not bother about flight and airport formalities. The best part is you don't have to wonder where your seats will be and how comfortable they will be. If crowds bother you and if you find long queues a pain, chartering a jet is the best possible option to travel. Such planes offer you premium services and unmatchable comfort. No matter where you want to reach and from which destination, you can always rent a private plane.

There are many companies that rent private planes. If you wish to travel in one, all you need to do is just give them a few hours notice before you need to fly. Some of the companies have different types of aircraft such as heavy jets, Boeing business jets, helicopters, and turbo props. Private jet charters are more versatile because they can fly you to a lot more places than commercial airlines do. These days almost every private plane is endowed with the latest entertainment facilities and the most scrumptious cuisine. Professionals from huge corporations who cannot afford getting late anywhere, anytime always prefer such planes to reach their destination.

Among many ways to travel by private planes, the best way is by buying flight card programs. These allow you to buy flight miles or hours that you intend to fly. You can select an appointed number of hours you want and specify the aircraft you need. If style and comfort is all you are looking for while travelling, you must choose a private plane. It also depends on whether you are a frequent flier. If your entire family opts for travelling by a private plane, they would be less tired and more eager to enjoy their vacation from the moment they reach there. It is better to check the online flight itineraries, which every website displays. Useful information about destinations, type of aircraft and available dates are mentioned on the web portals.

Premium services always come with a price. But once and a while it feels royal to travel by private planes. Just the feeling that celebrities, sport stars, rock stars and famous musicians travel by these planes gives you a supreme high. Your wife and kids will love you for that. If you are travelling for the first time it helps when you select an authentic service provider. There are many online companies wherein you can browse through their varied types of aircraft. Depending on the type of aircraft and your destination, you can even ask for a quote. Check for basic safety measures such as the qualification and total work experience of the pilot and other important staff. Normally, all senior staff of major private jet charters already have experience working with major airlines.

Private Jet Planes - The Average Cost of Private Jets

Private Jet Planes - The Average Cost of Private Jets

Everyone yearns to fly in the sky but not all can afford the luxury as the Jet Planes are really costly and will make a big hole in your pocket. You will find plenty of new and used Aircrafts for sale in the market and amongst that; I will recommend you to go for the used ones since the price is a bit low. Of course, if money is not a question for you, then you can certainly buy a new plane. It all comes down to how much you can afford to spend on the featured aircraft's. There is a super cool Supersonic jet which will be coming in 2014 and will cost around $80 million. The price tag suggests that this plane is made only for those Russian billionaires. You will drool at the speeds that these airplanes have to offer. The Supersonic jet will take you from New York to Paris in just four hours. Get this aircraft if you want to reach your destination quickly and don't want to face a lot of hassles in your journey.

There are plenty of planes available in the market right now and they contain both used and unused ones. If you are looking to buy airplanes, you will be surprised to see the host of options that are waiting there for you. Used crafts can cost you as low as $1,500,000. The cost depends on what you want and what you are buying the aircraft for. The price depends on the age, features (that the plane might have or if you want separate ones), and the size of the plane. Remember that a cheaper airplane does come with a catch: you might have to spend additional money on repairs and maintenance. The gas mileage is also a bit low as compared to new aircraft.

Bedroom Decorating - 8 Simple Ideas For Creating a Trains, Planes and Automobiles Bedroom Theme

Bedroom Decorating - 8 Simple Ideas For Creating a Trains, Planes and Automobiles Bedroom Theme

One of the most popular children's bedroom decorating themes for little boys is without a doubt, the transportation theme including trains, planes and automobiles. By using some of the eight simple ideas provided in this article, you can complete your bedroom transformation in no time!

Find a wall border that includes a transportation motif.

There are tons of options out there for wall borders that include planes, trains and automobiles. The most complicated part of choosing is deciding what color scheme you would like to incorporate into the room design.

Use wooden wainscotting below the chair rail.

This is an quick way to add an instant style statement to your room decor. Simply install a wooden wainscotting below the chair rail and paint it in a color that coordinates well with your wall border. For an even more cost effective option, consider using a faux wood or barn siding wallpaper as a substitute.

Select a bedding style and color that complements your design.

You can find wonderful deals at your local discount stores and online when making your bedding purchase. Many department stores will offer the individual bedding pieces in solid colors, so you can mix and match to create your own customized options.

Use a inexpensive wooden table and chairs as a room accent.

These can be purchased very inexpensively at your local bargain stores. Also, you can sometimes pick one of the sets up at a garage sale or local thrift store and give it new life by simply adding a new coat of fresh paint. For an interesting twist, try painting the table and chairs in several colors that coordinate with your room theme.

Create your own room accents.

You can create your own stop light out of foam core while getting your child involved in the process. Simply cut a rectangle and three circles out of foam core. Have your child paint the rectangle black, one circle red, one circle yellow and one circle green. Let your child assist you in gluing the circles to the vertical rectangle to create their traffic light. Hang the foam core sign on the wall as an easy room decor accent.

Use banks as bookends.

You can easily find car shaped banks at our local discount stores or online. Place them on alternate ends of your stash of books for an instant set of bookends. They will double as banks and help your child learn to have his pennies. These banks are readily available in plastic or ceramic.

Use left over wall border to make custom room accents.

Cut out some of the planes, trains and automobiles that are featured in your wall border and glue the cut outs onto lamp shades, decoupage a plain trash can, decorate a bulletin board or make your own artwork by framing the pieces.

Finish your bedroom theme with accessories.

Use model or toy trains and place them about the room. Find model or toy airplanes and set them on dressers or hang them from fish wire from the ceiling to complete your bedroom transformation.

Any of these eight ideas, or even all of them, are fabulous money saving alternatives when creating a stylish transportation themed bedroom decor.

Beginners Guide to RC Model Planes - Learn to Fly RC Model Planes

Beginners Guide to RC Model Planes - Learn to Fly RC Model Planes

Flying remote controlled (RC) model planes has been a popular hobby with children and big children, otherwise referred to as adults, for many years. I remember having a model plane when I was a child, it wasn't remote controlled, it was the type where you had some type of control mechanism, think a piece of string, attached directly to the plane and you held onto one end. RC model planes are WAY more fun because it is more like actually piloting a real airplane - including crashes if you aren't careful.

Today's planes are much easier to set up, can fly at slower speeds, and you can find smaller size models that don't require as much airspace for you to successfully fly your airplane. Once you get the hang of flying the smaller planes, following my five tips, you'll find that you can fly your plane without having to travel several miles just to find an open ball field that is clear of trees and power lines and other type obstacles that you don't want to have to deal with. Here are my five simple tips that can help you to have a lot more fun flying your RC model airplane.

(1) Buy a flight simulator and practice, practice, practice. Now flying a flight simulator isn't going to be exactly the same thing as actually flying a remote control airplane, but it can teach you basic skills that will become second nature so when it actually comes time to fly you won't even have to think about them. A simulator can help to teach you the necessary hand eye coordination that you will need during a live flight. Flying a model airplane requires exactly the opposite control movement of what most people think they need to do to make the airplane adjust correctly. You will learn to make the proper corrections without even having to think about what you are doing. And let's face it, if you crash, you just start the game all over again, and it hasn't cost you a penny.

(2) Go online or buy one of the many great books about flying model aircraft that are available. Although there is no substitute for real experience a book can teach you a couple of invaluable lessons. First, it can teach you the "right" way to fly a model plane. That way you will at least know what you are supposed to try to do. Second, it can help you to learn the basic terminology that you need to know for step 3. If you are going to work with a more experienced pilot or just want to go to the same area where other model airplane pilots fly their planes and watch and learn you need to be able to understand the language of flying - it has its own vocabulary. So for example, if someone looks at your plane and asks if it is an RTF model you need to know what they are talking about to answer. We'll get to RTF's in just a minute.

(3) Join a local club and/or see if you can find someone to team up with who is already an experienced pilot. The are several great RC model airplane hobby sites online and it is easy to find a local flying club that is close to where you live. Just as if you were training to fly a real lane, an experienced remote control plane pilot can teach you a lot of the tricks of the trade that will help you to have a lot more fun, and a lot fewer crashes.

(4) Choose the right type of model plane. This is one of the more important tips that you really need to pay attention to if you want to have any success. If you followed my advice in step one, and practiced on a flight simulator, then you probably already know that it is a whole lot easier to fly a plane and keep it under control if you are flying more slowly. Well, the real thing, whether it's a model plane or a real fighter jet is no different. When you are shopping for a model plane, and this is after you have followed my previous tips, so that you can talk intelligently to the salesperson because you already know the basic terminology, tell them what you are looking for. You want an airplane that has a long tail and one that has a dihedral angle (another word you need to know) of about 5 degrees or more. A larger dihedral angle will mean that the airplane will self correct a little easier when you make mistakes. Now it won't have the same ability to do axial rolls and lots of fun stuff as quickly as other aircraft, but right now you aren't worried about that, you are worried about not crashing.

(5) Buy a RTF RC plane. See, I told you we would come back to RTF. RTF is the beginner's friend - it simply means "ready to fly". As you advance you will likely buy other types of aircraft that aren't RTF, that allow a bit more customization and part if the fun is in building your own unique RC plane, but that's for a later date.

That's it, five simple easy steps and you can have a lot if fun. Oh, and not to be a pessimist, but when you buy your airplane, you need to ask about spare parts. The reality is, even if you follow all my tips and all the great advice you can get from a seasoned RC pilot, crashes are pretty much inevitable. Sooner or later you will run into a situation you can't handle, and it won't be pretty. But until then - happy flying and have a blast.

The Best Float Planes Available

The Best Float Planes Available

Almost everyone has every ridden in an airplane or on a boat, but how many people can you name who have ridden on a boat that is also a plane? Float planes have become more and more popular recently due to the growing tourist industry and now they are becoming personal possession items that are fun toys for those who like to fly planes or drive boats. When looking for a float plane, it is important to understand the floatplane rating so that you can purchase one that is safe and reliable. A float rating is kind of like a number value on the trustworthiness of the vehicle. Without it, your purchasing experience would be much more difficult.

When purchasing your very own float plane, there are a few things that you want to definitely keep in mind before you decide on a final purchase for yourself. Keep in mind a certain price range for yourself. Certain companies will raise or lower prices for competition but all in all float planes are going to be priced in the same general area. You also want to look out for consumer reviews on the products. Research a little before you do your shopping and contact a friend who may have purchased one before. Knowing the differences between the brands and how reliable each is can be very helpful.

Flying a float plane is just like piloting a normal plane except you must master the art of landing this small plane in water. Hitting the water too fast will sling you to the water tumbling forwards but landing just right with smoothly sail you the dock. Obviously flying a plane requires a license, so you will have to go through the process of what needs to be done to get that license before you can fly planes. Many would suggest getting that license first before you look into buying the plane.

Float planes will generally give you a little more of a fun experience than a regular plane, so these are great for entertaining or for touring businesses on busy islands or in busy cities. Invite the friends and family over for a boat ride and then take off into the sky for a nice surprise. The airplane, once in the air will feel like nothing but an actual airplane. The numbers of altitude are obviously much lower but the plane is very light and extremely easy to fly. These planes tend to be a little slower than real planes, but that is because they are not bogged down with super duty engines.

Purchasing a new toy, such as an airplane, can be a really big purchase that may require a little bit of time to think about it as well as deciding the perfect one. Check out different styles, different brands, and different prices just to ensure that you will be completely satisfied with your purchase. You would not want to spend that much money on something that you were not completely satisfied with, so take your time when purchasing your new toy.

RC Planes: A Beginner's Introduction

RC Planes: A Beginner's Introduction

Many aspiring modelers would like to get into using RC planes. Radio-controlled model aircraft are a rich source of enjoyment and inspiration. People make everything from highly-accurate models of historic and existing civilian and military aircraft to high-performance racers designed primarily for going as fast as possible around circuits. There are many different aspects to RC planes, and if you have no previous experience with them then you may be overwhelmed by all that you do not understand about them. In this article we will cover a few basic things about radio-controlled aircraft. Hopefully, this information will encourage you to start modeling yourself.

Flying Model Aircraft

One of the first things to understand about flying RC planes is that it is nowhere near as easy as it looks. These days, many cheap toys are available which can give you a taste for it, and a primary feature of many of these is their relative indestructibility. You can crash them all day long and not pay for it. However, a highly detailed scale model of a World War II Supermarine Spitfire will not stand up to the same abuse. Flying large models takes a great deal of practice, and even experts will still find their prized possessions lying in pieces from time to time.

Different Construction Methods

The cheaper toys are made from nearly indestructible plastic, but most self-built models are built using either polystyrene foam or something like balsa wood. Occasionally, a few parts will be made from spruce for extra strength. Foam has the advantage of being relatively easy to shape while also being nice and light. However, if you want the ultimate in light weight, the usual method of constructing RC planes involves building a fragile wooden skeleton before covering it in a thin plastic skin. This takes far more work, but many modelers take pride in the subtlety involved.

Power Sources

Larger models of RC planes are often powered by fuel engines. Smaller models typically use electric motors. However, some small models are fuel-powered and some larger models can be electric too. Electricity has the advantage of being cleaner and in many ways simpler. You do not need to worry about fires or fumes. However, carrying large numbers of batteries can be difficult due to their weight. This is why the larger models usually use fuel engines; their power-to-weight ratio becomes superior beyond a certain size. Beginners usually start with electric RC planes, but some people progress to fuel later on in their hobby when they have more experience.

Summary

RC Planes can be great fun, but as you get more serious about the art, you also face greater responsibility. A large model can not only destroy itself very easily, but it can also endanger other people and property. It is vital that you get in plenty of practice with the simpler designs before attempting something very difficult and complex. If you ramp up the difficulty gradually, you are sure to succeed in building ever more elaborate models and have a great time doing so.

Variable Pitch Propellers for Amazing Aerobatics in Indoor RC Planes

Variable Pitch Propellers for Amazing Aerobatics in Indoor RC Planes

Blade pitch, or simply pitch, describes the turning angle of attack of the blades of a propeller into or out of the air in order to control the production or absorption of thrust. In aircraft, pitch is normally given as either 'coarse', referring to a high angle of attack, or 'fine' for a low angle of attack and acts much like the gearing of a car - fine pitch yields good low-speed acceleration (and climb rate in the aircraft), whilst coarse pitch optimizes high-speed performance. It is because of the need to keep pitch constant along the length of a propeller blade, that the blades are twisted in shape, as this compensates for the fact that the velocity of a blade in motion varies from its centre to its tip.

Aircraft are often designed with the ability to vary the pitch of the propellers, so that performance and economy can be optimized for different stages of flight, such as take-off and cruising. These are known as Variable Pitch Propellers (VPP) and how they work is that the propeller blades are rotated around their long axis to change their angle of attack. If the pitch can be set to negative values, the propeller can create reverse thrust for manoeuvres such as breaking or going backwards, without having to change the direction of revolution of the propeller shaft.

The use of variable pitch propellers on indoor RC planes allows for some fantastic aerobatics displays, which are always the high point of RC tournaments and shows. The four main control elements on an indoor RC plane are the aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle. In normal flight, the pitch of the propeller blades is fixed and throttle is adjusted to vary the thrust. Normal flight applies to conventional flying such as take-off, cruising and landing. However, being able to vary the propeller pitch allows what is referred to as 4D flight where manoeuvres, which until recently had rarely been seen before, include flying backwards, inverted take-offs, reverse spins, nose-down hovering and even bouncing the nose on the floor!

Toy Planes Still Make the Grade

Toy Planes Still Make the Grade

Do you remember playing with toy planes as a child? How if you used your imagination, rather than running, you were flying right alongside your toy airplane. This is a great way to share a piece of your childhood with your children. If you enjoyed this activity as a child, why wouldn't you want to share this with your children?

Often as parents, we are afraid our children won't like the same things we did, because there are more technologically advanced things on the market today, and yet our children will get all kinds of toys with bells and whistles at Christmas time and still have more fun playing with the wrapping paper and boxes than the gifts filling them. Think about this when you wonder about your cherished memories being too lame or old fashioned. After all, how long have cardboard boxes been around?

I always make a point of showing my children the things that had a large impact on my childhood. Whether they enjoy them or not is entirely up to your child, but you can build memories simply through the act of sharing those things. We live in a world where time is such a precious commodity, how could you possibly better spend your time, than sharing fond memories of your childhood with your children, especially the memories of good clean fun.

Toy planes today are far more sophisticated than they were when we were children and yet the old-fashioned wood and rubber band airplanes still exist. And the most amazing thing is that both of them are good sellers even after all these years the traditional toy plane is popular among children and parents as a bonding experience. Toy planes represent freedom, wings, what more beautiful thing can you give a child to play with?
