BD-10 Personal Fighter Jet Needs Modifications for Increased Performance

BD-10 Personal Fighter Jet Needs Modifications for Increased Performance

Probably the coolest innovation in recent Experimental Aircraft History in the new millennium is the new Bede Corporations BD-10 Personal Fighter Jet, with unheard of performance and sporting a 2800 lbs of thrust jet engine. Imagine owning your own little fighter plane aircraft? The BD-10 website has several videos to watch, and any aviation enthusiast like myself will surely get a kick out of it.

The climb rate is over 12,000 feet per minute and it is more comparable to an F-16 than a homebuilt aircraft, even though it is a bit of both. That is to say it has the aerodynamic technology of a modern fighter aircraft and can be built in your garage like a Q-2, Lanceair or Vari Eze. In fact if you will go to the official BD-10 website and download the introduction video you will be amazed at its capability and performance and you will surely want on for yourself. If you just look at the aircraft you can probably figure out that it has a roll-rate comparable to a T-28 or an A-4 Skyhawk.

What modifications could you possibly design into this aircraft to make it even better? Well, how about changing the wings a bit? Now then since the wings do not hold fuel in them why not make them out of inflatable lightweight new high-tech material. Therefore they would be Expandable wings and once at speeds 450 knots or more they could be retracted and thus allow the aircraft less drag, better performance and more efficiency.By cutting down on the drag this supersonic homebuilt aircraft could go even faster and greatly increase it rate of climb and acceleration speed. Bede Corporation needs to think on this in 2006.
