Powered Paraglider's Are the Cheapest Aircraft in the World

Do you dream of flying?

I don't mean flying in a crowded seat on a commercial airline but rather to zoom over the tree tops.

(Are you wondering what a Powered Paraglider or the worlds cheapest aircraft is?)

I totally understand. There are a few people out there how just crave to fly. When you walk over a tall bridge do you stop and look over the water below and wish you could just zoom out between the trees?

I used to too.

If you want to get flying you have a few options.

1. Go and get your pilots licence. This will cost you about $3000 and then you will be able to fly Cessna and other small aircraft. The aircraft rent will cost you about $50 per hour. This is fun but is it what you dream of.

2. You can take up a gliding sport like hang gliding. This will definitely give you that soaring feeling but it will not really take you UP into the air.

3. You can become an Ultralight Aircraft pilot. An Ultralight is any aircraft that weighs less than 255 pounds. There are a few other rules like less than 5 gallons of fuel and speed limitations but you get the idea it is a very small aircraft.

Some of the great things about being an ultralight pilot are:

A. There is no licensing requirements of any kind.
B. No medical certificate.
C. No Insurance.

Heck these things along make being an Ultralight Pilot tempting. But the best thing is that Ultralight Aircraft are literally the cheapest aircraft in the world.

I have seen people build their own ultralight aircraft from plans for as little as $750. There are a lot of different kinds of Ultralight Aircraft. The cheapest and most versatile are the Powered Paragliders.

You can put one of these aircraft in the trunk of your car. You have to see one of these things they are amazing.
